ADAS calibration done right in Corpus Christi

A lot of the vehicles on SPID and I-37 now do some of the driving for you. A small camera at the top of the windshield keeps you in your lane and hits the brakes when traffic stops short. When that glass is replaced, the camera moves with it — and a system that's even a little off can read the road wrong.

That's where ADAS calibration comes in. We're a veteran-owned shop with 16 years in the auto glass trade, and we calibrate in-house instead of sending your vehicle out to a dealer. We set the vehicle up, run the calibration your model needs, and verify the systems read correctly before you drive off. We have made quality our habit.

Why calibration has to follow new glass

Many newer vehicles have a forward-facing camera at the top of the windshield. It watches lane lines and the traffic ahead, and it feeds features like automatic braking and adaptive cruise. When the old glass comes out and new glass goes in, that camera moves — even a hair is enough. A camera aimed slightly off can misjudge the road, so it has to be re-aimed to the vehicle's specifications.

  • Camera re-aimed to your vehicle's specifications
  • Needed on most vehicles after a windshield replacement
  • Done in-house — your car doesn't leave for a dealer
  • System checked and verified before you drive off

Not sure whether your vehicle needs it? If it has any of these features, there's a camera or sensor that a windshield replacement can affect. We set the vehicle up with the proper targets and recalibrate each one, then confirm it reads the road correctly.

  • Lane departure & lane-keep cameras
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • 360-degree & backup cameras

Your vehicle stays with us from glass to final check. Depending on the model, calibration is static — done in the shop with targets set up in front of the vehicle — dynamic, where we drive it so the system relearns, or both. Either way, we don't hand the keys back until the system reads correctly and is verified to spec. Our shop is fully air conditioned, which keeps both the glass work and the electronics happy.

ADAS calibration questions

What is ADAS calibration?

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These are the cameras and sensors that run features like lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Calibration re-aims those cameras and sensors so the systems read the road correctly. It is most often needed after a windshield replacement.

Do I really need calibration after a windshield replacement?

If your vehicle has a camera mounted behind the windshield for features like lane departure or automatic braking, then yes. Taking the old glass out and setting the new glass in shifts that camera, so it has to be recalibrated. We check whether your vehicle needs it and handle the calibration in-house after your windshield replacement.

How long does ADAS calibration take?

Plan on about one to two hours on top of the glass work, depending on your vehicle and whether it needs a static calibration, a dynamic calibration, or both. We tell you what your vehicle calls for before we start.

What is the difference between static and dynamic calibration?

Static calibration is done in the shop with target boards set up in front of the vehicle. Dynamic calibration means driving the vehicle on the road so the system relearns as it goes. Some vehicles need one, some need the other, and some need both. We handle whichever yours requires.

Can you calibrate without replacing the windshield?

Yes. Calibration can also be needed after front camera, bumper, or suspension work, or if a driver-assist warning light is on. Send us your VIN or license plate number and we will confirm whether your vehicle needs it.

Which driver-assist systems do you calibrate?

We recalibrate forward-facing cameras for lane departure and automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and 360-degree and backup cameras. We verify each one reads correctly before you drive off.

What do you need to give me a quote?

Just your VIN or license plate number. That tells us your exact vehicle and which systems it runs. Call or text it over and we will get you a price fast.
